About FinanceAvatar
FinanceAvatar is a U.S.-focused website of educational financial calculators and supporting explanations. The goal is to help you see a clearer picture of a money decision — not to make that decision for you.
What we do
People often meet a financial choice as a single number: a monthly payment, a take-home paycheck, or a savings target. That number is useful, but it is rarely the whole story. FinanceAvatar is being built so each tool can show a result, explain what the result depends on, and point to a related calculator when another view would help.
The first tools will cover common U.S. topics: mortgages and home affordability, auto and general loans, credit card and debt payoff, paychecks, compound interest, savings goals, and retirement estimates.
What we do not do
FinanceAvatar does not provide individualized financial, tax, investment, insurance, or legal advice. We do not originate loans, sell financial products, or recommend specific lenders, investments, or employers. We do not claim professional licenses, certifications, or partnerships that we have not established.
There are no user accounts in this version of the site. You do not need to create a login to use the tools we publish.
How we want the site to feel
The design is meant to be calm and easy to read: navy, emerald, and generous whitespace rather than loud colors or novelty visuals. The calculator itself should stay more prominent than decoration. Copy should stay modest. If a result is an estimate, we will say so.
How we approach accuracy
Calculator math will live in dedicated modules, separate from the page layout, so formulas can be reviewed and explained. When a tool depends on public U.S. rules or commonly cited methods, we will describe the method and link to authoritative sources rather than invent figures. Our methodology and editorial policy describe that standard in more detail.
A note on the name
“Avatar” here means a picture of your numbers — a clearer view of a decision you are already considering. It does not mean a personalized advisor, a scored identity, or a promise about your financial future.
