Editorial Policy
FinanceAvatar publishes educational explanations alongside calculators. This page describes the standard we intend to follow. It is not a claim that we have a large editorial staff, outside reviewers, or industry certifications.

Purpose of the content
Pages on this site should help you understand a calculation and the assumptions behind it. They should not tell you that a loan, home, investment, or payoff plan is right for you. When a result is an estimate, the page should say so in plain language.
What we will not invent
We will not fabricate:
- Statistics, tax rates, or legal requirements
- Reviews, testimonials, awards, or user counts
- Professional licenses, credentials, or partnerships
- Sources we have not actually consulted
If a figure depends on a public rule — for example, a federal tax concept or a Social Security program feature — we will describe it generally, cite a primary U.S. source, and date the review. If we cannot source a number, we will omit it or ask you to enter it yourself.
Voice and independence
Copy should stay calm and specific. We will not promise financial outcomes. FinanceAvatar does not currently display advertisements, and we do not accept payment to rank or recommend products. If that changes, this policy will be updated.
Corrections
If we find an error in an explanation or a formula, we will correct the page and update the “last reviewed” note where one is shown. We do not currently operate a public corrections desk or published editorial board.
